This privacy statement explains how we process your personal data (hereafter referred to as ‘data’).

B.    Data processing

In the course of operating our website, we process data. Processing data also includes disclosing and transmitting it.

Transmission of data to the US is subject to the EU Commission's adequacy decision, the EU-US Privacy Shield.  This decision states that guarantees relating to the transmission of data to the US, based on the principles of the EU-US Privacy Shield, are equivalent to data privacy standards in the EU. If we transmit data to the US, we highlight our service providers’ compliance with the EU-US Privacy Shield.

Specific details on data, processing purposes, legal bases, recipients and transmissions to third countries can be found below:

a)     Log files

We record your visit to our websites. In doing so, the following data is processed: Name of the visited website, date and time of the visit, amount of data transferred, browser type / version, operating system, referrer URL (website visited before ours), your IP address and provider. This is needed to ensure the security of the website. We process data on the legal basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Log files are deleted after seven days unless they are required to clarify or prove specific legal infringements that transpired during the retention period.

b)    Hosting

Hosting requires all data processed in connection with the operation of this website to be stored. This is needed to operate the website. We process data on the legal basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. We use the services of web hosting providers for our website and transmit the aforementioned data to them.

c)     Contact

If you contact us, we only process your data (name, contact details if provided) and your message in order to handle your enquiry. We process this data according to the legal basis in Article 6(1)(b) or (f) of the GDPR in order to handle your enquiry.

d)    Website analysis and marketing

We use cookies to enable certain functions of the website to be used. Cookies are small data files that are stored on your device and exchanged with other providers. Some of the cookies that we use are deleted as soon as your close your browser (session cookies). Other cookies remain on your device and enable your browser to be recognised when you next visit the website (persistent cookies).

You can delete all the cookies stored on your device and adjust the settings on your browser to prevent cookies from being stored.

This may mean that you have to adjust some settings each time you visit this website and some functions may not operate fully.

We use cookies in connection with the following functionalities:

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google uses specific cookies for this. The information gathered by the cookies about your use of this website (including your IP address) are sent to a Google server in the US and stored there. We use this information to analyse your use of the website, compile reports on website activity for the website operators and render services associated with use of the website. We process the data received on the legal basis of our overriding interest in optimising the marketing of our online presence pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Google will not connect your IP address with other data held by Google.

It is important to note that this website uses Google Analytics with the extension ‘anonymizelp()’. This truncates IP addresses before sending them to a server in the US, thereby making it generally impossible to connect an individual to the stored data. In exceptional cases, the full IP address will be sent to a Google server in the US and truncated there.

You can object at any time to data being gathered in the future by using the Google Analytics deactivation add-on for browsers found on

http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Further information on the use of data by Google within the Google partner network can be found on:

e)     External content

We use external dynamic content to optimise the presentation and provision of our website. When you visit the website, an enquiry is automatically sent to the relevant content provider using an API and specific log files (e.g. the user’s IP address) are transmitted. The dynamic content is then sent to our website and shown there.

We use external content in connection with the following functionalities:

aa)  Embedded YouTube videos

We have embedded YouTube videos on our website provided by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA (‘YouTube’). When the videos are played, log files are sent to YouTube’s servers in the US. Data is processed on the legal basis of our overriding interest in optimising the marketing of our online presence pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

YouTube is certified under: https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active

On our website, we use the ‘Google Maps’ service provided by Google in order to show you an interactive map. When the map is displayed, data including your IP address and location is sent to the Google servers in the US and stored there. Data is processed on the legal basis of our overriding interest in optimising the marketing of our online presence pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

Google is certified under:

f)      Social plug-ins

On our website, we use plug-ins from third-party providers. These enable you to inform your contacts whether you like our website and highlight or share content. The plug-ins are identified by the relevant third-party provider's logo.

When you visit our website, your data is transmitted to the third-party providers.

If you also use one of them, this data is also matched to the provider's corresponding user account.

This data may sometimes be transmitted to third-party providers even if you are not registered with them as a user and do not click on the plug-in on our websites.

If the data is transmitted and you are not logged in to the third-party provider at the same time, however, it is not possible to link the data to an individual using the IP address; this would require information from your provider.

You can find more information on how third-party providers process your data in their privacy statements.
